ACCOUNT OF MY DAYS
Sequence: 7
OVER AND OUT
crossing over the creek bed
dry now rain stilled
up the gravel drive
with its few turns
uphill slightly the woods
all around the woods surround
the wooden house
the small hills stretch away
composed with cracks in their sides
to carry water away
and breaks in their rhythm
a little flatness pastureland
cornfields a few still farm
that figure dark with heavy clothes
I see across his open fields
from the shelter of trees (hidden)
he walks unaware of me
his step is firm his thoughts
invisible his heart
a mystery his step firm
a deliberate walking
where he is going
